About the Collection & Artist

Inspired by Country. Rooted in Culture. A Celebration of Nature.

Meet Melanie Hava, a talented Aboriginal artist based in Far North Queensland, whose beautiful artwork is inspired by her diverse cultural heritage and experiences across Australia's breathtaking outback, lush rainforests and vibrant reef country.

In collaboration with Greenigo, Melanie created the Jigay (Earth) Collection, a beautiful celebration of Australia's native birds, animals and their deep connection to the natural world. The collection features wood cover notebooks, journals and, for the very first time, wood bookmarks.

The Story Behind Jigay (Earth)

In Melanie's own words:

"I present to you, Jigay Collection because everything alive on earth comes from the earth. This collection consists of some of my favourite Australian birds and animals to paint. Our ‘old ones’, our ancestors lived as one with their country and the earth provided for them. Our native birds and animals still live as one with the earth and its fauna and the earth always provides for them. The closer we are connecting with our surrounding nature and earth, the more happiness and serenity we find in ourselves and our lives."
